Issue/Introduction

Create a 4x agent without access to the WAM UI.

Cause

Create a 4x agent in order to log into the FSS Administrative UI and have no access to the WAM UI.

Resolution

A 4x agent can be created manually in the XPS via the XPSExplorer utility as follows:

1. Execute XPSExplorer.
   
   XPSExplorer is an interactive command-line utility that allows an administrator or application developer to view the data in a policy store, and it is usually located under <SiteMinderHomeDir>\bin:
   
   XPSExplorer
   
   
2. Enter option #15 - Agent4x.
   
   
   
   
   
   

3. Enter option N - Create a New instance of this class.

   
   
   
4. Enter option #1: AgentTypeLink.
   
    
   
   
   
   
5. Type ? to view options.
   
   

   

   
   
   
6. Enter option #15 - SiteMinder Web Agent.
   
   

   

   
   
   
7. Enter option #3 - Name, and specify a name.
   
   

   

   
   
   
8. Enter option #5 - IpAddr, and specify the ip address of the 4.x Agent.
   
   

    

   
   
   
9. Enter option #6 - Secret, and specify the Shared Secret.
   
   

   

   
   
   
10. Enter option V (Validate record).
    
    

    

    
    
    
11. Enter option U (Update record).
    
    

    

    
    
    
12. Enter Q to quit, continue until exit.

The 4x agent has been created and it is ready to use with the FSS Administrative UI.
