Trying to reformat ZXL that is full, receive LOGIC ERROR 0001.

Logic Error 0001 - Attempt to open data set that is already open.

When trying to reformat a VPAM file such as a ZXL or ZCL that is allocated to the Alchemist started task, you must first stop the Alchemist started task.

To create a larger VPAM file:

1. Define a new file with a temporary name.
   
   
   • It is important that you set the correct FMTSIZE so that the entire data set is formatted. (See the Administrator's Guide pg 112 for details on defining the VPAM file and use of FMTSIZE.)
     
     
2. Once you've created it, run PRINT STATISTICS to verify the size and formatting gives you the desired outcome.
   
   
3. If this looks good, then follow the instructions for Extending control files on Administrator's Guide pg 79, Procedure A.
