Issue/Introduction

Having upgraded CA Mainframe Configuration Manager for IMS for z/OS, users are receiving errors when using the ISPF Interface.

CA Configuration Manager 19.0 for IMS

Option 3  Verify       Verify an IMS Resource Update List

Selecting option 3 from the CA Configuration Manager 19.0 for IMS main menu results in 'Allocation Failed' in the top right corner of the screen.

Hitting PF1 displays error message window:

CFMC005 Allocation Failed for CFMPDSDI data set RC=0004 Error Code=1708 Info
Code 0002 DSN=CFMPDS_dataset_name

Option 2  Edit         Create an IMS Resource Update List

Selecting option 2 from the CA Configuration Manager 19.0 for IMS main menu results in 'Profile *DEFAULT Selected' in the top right corner of the screen.

Hitting PF1 displays error message window:

CFMA214 Your resource update list default values and authorization to update
resource attributes was obtained from profile name *DEFAULT

Both the CFMPDS and CFMOPT data sets have been allocated using the CFMALLOC sample job.

What is causing these errors?

Environment

Release:
Component: CFM

Cause

These specific symptoms occur when the CFMOPT and CFMPDS datasets have been allocated BUT the CFMPDS cannot be found.

The CFMPDS dataset being referenced is the data set name specified on the 'CA Configuration Manager 19.0 for IMS' main menu, in the 'CFMPDS Data Set Name ===>' field.

The error code reported in the CFMC005 message is a dynamic allocation error.

Error Code=1708 indicates that the entry cannot be found.

Resolution

Check the data set name specified in the 'CFMPDS Data Set Name' field. This name should match the CFMPDS data set name that you created in the CFMALLOC sample job.

Issuing a 'TSO ISRDDN' line command whilst in the CFM main menu will display the CFMOPT data set that has been allocated.

Ensure the files allocated are those that were allocated by CIMTSAMP(CFMALLOC).
