SymDump for CICS SymDump Batch

Issue/Introduction

The client is upgrading from CA Symdump CICS release 8.5 to version 10. When starting CA Symdump for CICS v 10 using the r 8.5 PLTPI programs the client receives the following message at PLTPI time.

CASD6949 IN25INS1 IS NOT A VALID PLT PROGRAM.

Environment

Z/OSCICS

Cause

Starting in release 9.1 CA Symdump for CICS program IN25INS1 is no longer a valid PLTPI program.

Resolution

The CA SymDump for CICS PLTPI requirements have changed starting in release r 9.1 starting with PTF RO88406. So clients that have upgraded to CA SymDump for CICS r 9.1 should check the CICS PLTPI for program IN25INS1. If the program is present it should be removed from the PLTPI.

Prior to CA SymDump for CICS release 9.1 (FIX RO88406), optional startup PLT program IN25INS1 could be added to the PLTPI to automatically purge old dumps from the PROTDMP data set at PLTPI startup. The HOLD action on PTF RO88406 instructs the SYSPROG to remove IN25INS1 from the PLTPI since the program is no longer valid.

To Start CA SymDump for CICS at PLTPI startup add program IN25INST AFTER the DFHDELIM in the PLTPI table. This has not changed and has always been the startup program.
