New Failsafe usermod (SMPSAFE2) with z/OS 1.10
With z/OS 1.10 Usermod SMPSAFE2 replaces SMPSAFE. SMPSAFE is no longer valid with z/OS 1.10 or higher, but SMPSAFE2 is downward compatible with other supported z/OS levels. In order to be able to use SMPSAFE2 you must apply RO02450.
Two new members: CL05246S and CL05245 need to be added to the CAI.PPOPTION library. User mod SMPSAFE2 will need to be added to the CAI.SAMPJCL library.
The following shows the 2 Usermods, CL05246 and CL05246S, that need to be added to CAI.PPOPTION.
++JCLIN. //LNK019VM EXEC PGM=IEWL,PARM='RENT,REUS,MAP,LIST,XREF,LET' //C$F12LLD DD DSN=CAI.CTS.C$F12LLD,DISP=OLD //SYSLMOD DD DSN=CAI.CAILIB,DISP=OLD //SYSLIN DD * INCLUDE C$F12LLD(CTS019VM) SETSSI 52000000 ENTRY IFG019VM MODE AMODE(31),RMODE(ANY) NAME IFG019VM(R) ++MOD(CTS019VM) LKLIB(CAILIB).
++USERMOD(CL05246) /* CA 1 INSTALL SMPSAFE2 USERMOD */. ++VER (Z038) FMID(C$F1200) PRE (Z$F1200,XXXXXXX).
The following shows Usermod SMPSAFE2 that need to be added to the CAI.SAMPJCL library.
++USERMOD (SMPSAFE2) /*
This USERMOD is NOT necessary, but is being made available to prevent any tape processing from occurring while CA's tape intercepts are NOT active. This user module must be applied to the IBM zone and IPL done before it becomes effective.
If the tape intercepts are not applied error message CTS997E/CTS998E will be issued and the tape job stopped when WTOR CTS999D is issued. You may reply 'U' to continue the job, 'M' to reject the tape, or 'C' to cancel the job. This will happen each time a tape is mounted until the tape intercepts are applied.
NOTE: INCLUDE A DD STATEMENT CALLED 'CAILIB' POINTING TO YOUR CURRENT CAI.
CURRENT CAI.CAILIB (DISP=SHR) IN THE SMP PROC */. ++VER (Z038) FMID(-------) /* FMID FOR DFSMS MUST BE SUPPLIED */. ++MOD (IFG019VM) LKLIB(CAILIB).
The PIB RI02479 contains the new Usermods.
Once you have placed the new members into the CAI.PPOPTION and CAI.SAMPJCL libraries then:
The message CTS999D along with either CTS997E or CTS998E will be issued in order to prevent tape processing prior to running CAS9 or if CA1 has been deactivated or batch activated. The messages are as follows:
> CTS999D uuuu,vvvvvv,dsname
Along with either:
> CTS997E CA TAPE MGMT INTERCEPTS ARE NOT ACTIVE!! FOREIGN TAPE IS REQUESTED, TAPE ACTIVITY IS NOT BEING RECORDED! CTS999D WILL BE ISSUED FOR EACH TAPE MOUNT, REPLY U, M, OR C.
> CTS998E CA TAPE MGMT INTERCEPTS ARE NOT ACTIVE!! TAPES ARE NOT PROTECTED AND TAPE ACTIVITY IS NOT BEING RECORDED! CTS999D WILL BE ISSUED FOR EACH TAPE MOUNT, REPLY U, M, OR C.
The Failsafe Usermod is optional but recommended to prevent any tape activity from occurring until CA 1 is active.
