DNS name can't be resolved through CA ESP Workload Automation.

Issue/Introduction

Description

We have defined one agent with DNS name, however CA ESP WA issued following error message:

ESP2215E GetHostByName, AGENT1.TEST.COM, Host not found, Task=0179A8
ESP1545E Error connecting to AGENT1

Also similar message from INET Q H command:

OPER INET Q H AGENT1.TEST.COM
ESP2127I Host AGENT1.TEST.COM not found

But when you ping the same DSN name from TSO, it works fine. It seems the DNS name can't be resolved through CA ESP WA.

Solution

You may need to add //SYSTCPD in CA ESP WA STC, to point to the proper TCPIP parm.
