Issue/Introduction

Description:

NO APPLICABLE ++VER is saying that the base SYSMOD to which the APAR is being applied has not been previously installed or applied.

Solution:

The source for all APARs must have a ++VER modification control statement. For example, ++VER (Z038) FMID(CGJG000). The FMID parameter identifies the base SYSMOD that the APAR will modify. The base SYSMOD represents a product or a sub-product. CGJG000 itself represents IDMS therefore a NO APPLICABLE ++VER message for an APAR with this FMID would be saying IDMS is not installed in the current SMP CSI that is being used for the RECEIVE.

The format of the IDMS SYSMODs is Cpcrrnn where pc is the product code such as GJ, rr the release such as GO for 16.0 and nn is a number such as 00, 01 or 02 etc. Number 00 represents the primary SYSMOD for a product or sub-product and non-zero numbers would represent options under that product or sub-product. For a list of the IDMS and IDMSTOOLS product codes please refer to knowledge document TEC462354.

The solution to a NO APPLICABLE ++VER could be

  1. Find the right CSI,

  2. Do an ADD-ON install or

  3. maybe the APAR being applied really is not needed.
