If it is necessary to do so, how do you uninstall and reinstall the ca_lic directory?

Solution

Below are the steps to uninstall and reinstall the licensing mechanism.

1. Make a backup of your ca.olf file before proceeding any further.
2. Under the CA_lic directory, you should find a zip file called lic98_uninstaller.zip - unzip it and run the bat file. This should uninstall the license mechanism.
3. Reboot the operating system.
4. Download and install the latest ALP license mechanism from the link below:
   https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/anonymous/phpdocs?filePath=0/common/reglic/readme_standalone.html
5. Run the Silent.exe which will reinstall the application.
6. Copy the ca.olf file in CA_LIC directory and then restart all CA services again.
