Solution:

• Determine change.
  
  
• Exhaust standard parameters.
  
  
• Find member in sharedprefix.MICS.PROTOLIB.
  
  
• Browse member and determine specific change.
  
  
• Make a backup copy of the member in sharedprefix.LOCALMOD.CNTL.
  
  
• Code an IEBUPDTE for the update in sharedprefix.LOCALMOD.CNTL and submit.
  
  
• Ensure updates are as expected.
  
  
• For all units affected by the change:

  Edit prefix.PARMS(JCLGENU) with name(s) of job(s) to re-gen
  
  Submit prefix.CNTL(JCLGENU)

• If production JCL is affected, update the appropriate JCL in production.
