Issue/Introduction

Description:

The System and Log agents are installed on a server when everything is functioning properly. Error messages appear in the aws_sadmin.log. The solution describes how to prevent these messages from occuring?

Solution:

The error messages most likely caused by the local host (127.0.0.1) entry for trap destination in the aws_sadmin.cfg file. To stop the messages from occurring:

  1. Stop the Agent Technology service.

  2. Modify the file (after saving a backup of original file):

    Windows: %AGENTWORKS_DIR%\services\config\aws_sadmin\aws_sadmin.cfg
    UNIX/Linux: $AGENTWORKS_DIR/services/config/aws_sadmin/aws_sadmin.cfg

  3. Comment out the following line.

    SNMP_TRAP localhost|162 # traps to localhost
    OR
    SNMP_TRAP 127.0.0.1|162 # traps to localhost

  4. Start the Agent Technology service.
