Issue/Introduction

Description:

SCM Administrator needs to ensure all the processes relevant to SCM broker is stopped for graceful shutdown for regular maintenance.

Solution:

The command to stop SCM broker is "bkrd -shutdown".
The broker process will stop the bkrd process and shutdown all hserver processes the Broker started.
If some hserver is still active carrying out SCM activities then it will not stop until the activity is complete.
The Broker will not stop the Rtserver process even though it may have started it before.
The RTserver process may be used by other processes like agent.

NOTE: Broker will not stop hserver in following cases:

  1. Any hserver which is still in progress to complete unfinished task. It will stop eventually.
  2. Any hserver which may be hung due to other reason. it will not stop and may need to kill the process.
