Issue/Introduction

Description:

We are trying to retrieve an archived Power list queue entry from a CAPRARCH tape. Dynam T finds the correct tape in the catalog, but CAPRARCH RETRIEVE does not locate any entries. In looking at the CA RAPS Online Directory, there are no entries for the dates we need. What is wrong? How do I get these listings?

Solution:

If entries exist on tape, but do not appear in the Online Directory, CAPRARCH will not be able to retrieve them until the entries are reintroduced using the CAPRARCH REBUILD function. See the CA RAPS for VSE 5.0 User Guide, Chapter 5.0, under ARCHIVING COMMANDS. The REBUILD provide the information RAPS needs to retrieve the entries from tape.
