Issue/Introduction

Description

This KB explains how to use the Xcart funtionality of the XPSExplorer utility to select SiteMinder objects and the XPSExport and XPSImport utility to export/import specific SiteMinder Objects.

The following example shows how to export and import an ODBC User Directory.

Solution

  1. Open a new windows, go to <SiteMinderHomeDir> and execute XPSEplorer:

    C:\Program Files\CA\SiteMinder\bin>XPSExplorer
  2. Enter 57 to Select user directory.

  4. Enter S to search user directories.

  6. Enter the number of the user directory, in our case 1.

  8. Enter X to add the user directory to the XCart.

  10. Enter Q, Q and Q to return to the main menu.

  12. Enter X to see the Xcart Options.

  14. Enter A to select the import mode, in our case is "ADD".

  16. Enter the number of the user directory.

  18. Enter N to save the Xcart.

  20. Enter the path to save the file.

  22. Enter Q and Q to exit.
  23. A file with the XID of the user directory has been created. Use this file to export the user directory.

  24. Export the user directory using the XPSExport utility as follows
  25. XPSExport <Outputfile> -xf <FileWithXIDs>

  26. Import the user directory using the XPSImport utility in other Policy Server as follows:
  27. XPSImport <exportFile>

    The user directory has been imported.
