Issue/Introduction

The ACF2/CICS ACF2PARM dataset and the Infostorage database records for Control(CIC) includes options for each CICS region which are specified through a series of system parameters. The MRO parameter specifies the MRO/IRC/ISC controls over CICS regions in a MRO environment. The MRO parameter lets a site apply individual CICS interface controls to separate SYSIDs. The MRO sysid is a unique four-character identifier assigned to a CICS region to identify the region to CICS MRO processing.

Resolution

ACF2/CICS ACF2PARM dataset MRO parameter and the Infostorage database records class of "C" for Control, and a type of "CIC" for CICS initialization options identifies a specific MRO region to which individual ACF2 controls (SYsid, Default, Format, Linksec, Receive, and Transmit) are applied. With this keyword, each MRO SYSID is considered a separate entity, allowing sites to base security and control on the needs of each MRO-interconnected region. ACF2/CICS MRO inheritance processing uses the SYSID keyword to locate the MRO parameter's keywords.

The MRO sysid is unique four-character identifier assigned to a CICS region to identify the region to CICS MRO processing. The SYSID is defined in the CICS DFHSIT SYSID parameter.

Details on the ACF2/CICS MRO parameter and keywords can be found in the ACF2 Security for z/OS CICS Support Guide in section CICS Interface Parameters, section "MRO-MRO Control Options".
