Issue/Introduction

Description:

There are two CA Asset Portfolio Management Import tools available on the Support Online.

Which do I choose to download?

APM Import Tool - version 1.0.0.1

ITAM Data Importer - version 12.0.201.0

Solution:

APM Import Tool - version 1.0.0.1 is used mainly with UAPM 11.3.

It can be used with UAPM 11.3.4 but the APM Import tool is not as robust as the ITAM Data Importer and lacks some functionality that is only available in the ITAM Data Importer.

ITAM Data Importer - version 12.0.201.0 can only be used with UAPM 11.3.4 (plus at least the RO02252 patch).

The ITAM Data Importer is more robust than then the APM Import tool. It has some added functionality and improved documentation including sample mappings.

Note: As both of these tools utilize the API, they should be used in conjunction with the CA Asset Portfolio Management Inside the API guide.

If using the ITAM Data Importer with CA Software Compliance Manager, the CA Software Compliance Manager Administration Guide should also be used as a reference document.
