Group Trend reports create an artificial bucket for each poll which will be exactly 5 minutes (300 seconds) apart. The reason this needs to be done is due to the fact that elements will not necessarily be polled at the exact same time down to the second, nor will the replies come back from the elements to the eHealth system at the exact same time.
eHealth needs to align these different delta times by creating artificial buckets. eHealth then prorates the data for each element, for each poll, to be used in the artificially created bucket. For more information on how eHealth prorates data, please see the solution titled How eHealth prorates data.
After the data has been prorated, in the case of a variable which is an average or percent, eHealth sums the values of each element then divides by the number of elements in the group. This is done for every artificial 5 minute poll/sample on the Group Trend reports.
