TPX - Session Management

Issue/Introduction

How to internationalize security messages like "Password expired", "wrong Password" etc. at sign on to TPX in any language

Resolution

TPX offers a good selection of seventeen languages including:

English
Uppercase English
CUA (Common User Access, a specification for user-computer interfaces, written by IBM)
German
French
Belgian French
Brazilian Portuguese
Danish
Dutch
Finnish
Italian
Japanese
Norwegian
Spanish
Swedish
Swiss French
Swiss German

The user will get all login dialog messages in the language defined in his TPX user definitions.

Still there may be occasions, where he may be presented with a language, that he does not speak:

  • If he is not defined statically, he will get the TPX default language.

  • If the panels are not installed, because only the login messages are needed in Multilanguage.

  • If his language is not one of the provided languages.

You may chose to display the original messages from SAF instead of the TPX login dialogue. Thus each user gets the language, that is noted in his SAF profile.

These can be then customized in the security package based on the users language definition there.

By setting "SMRT 9: Return message from SAF" to "YES" TPX will display the original messages from SAF.
