How to migrate the software installation records for different agents from one DSM Domain manager to a new DSM Domain manager?

Issue/Introduction

Description:

When migrating DSM agents from one Domain to a new DSM Domain with a different name and a new MDB database, is it possible to also migrate the software installations records for these agents to the new Domain?

Solution:

There is not a straightforward and simple mechanism to export the software installation records of a particular computer and import it on a different or new DSM Domain manager.

It is possible however to move the Scalability Server that the agents are reporting to, from the old Domain manager to the new Domain manager. In that case the software installation records will be moved to the new Domain together with the agent records.

Please make sure that before starting the move operation, that all the previously deployed software packages are imported into the new Domain manager.
