Solution:

Every Access Type is assigned an Access Level from Admin to None. Admin has the most rights, None the least. Ultimately Access Level is the level assigned to the logged on user.

Grant level is the security right of a logged in user to change the Access Type of someone in the contact table. These rights are as follows:

  • A grant level of Admin allows the logged-in user the right to assign any Access Type to any user in the contact table.

  • A grant level of Analyst allows the logged-in user the right to assign any Access Type to any user in the contact table provided the Access Level of the Access Type is not Admin and the contact is not already assigned an Access Type of Admin.

  • A grant level of Cust/Emp allows the logged-in user the right to assign any Access Type to any user in the contact table where the Access Level of the Access Type is Cust/Emp or None and the contact is not already assigned an Access Type of Admin or Analyst.

  • A grant level of None does not give the logged-in user the right to change the Access Type of any contact in the contact table unless the Access Level of that Access Type is None and the contact table has no Access Type or the Access Type assigned already has a grant level of None. Usually a client will only have one Access Type with an Access Level of None. So a user with this grant level effectively has no right to grant access rights to any user.
