What is the Spectrum NewMM.pl postinstall script used for?

The NewMM.pl script is used post upgrade to convert existing models to newly supported model types. 

For example, if you have a Cisco device that was not certified in your previous version of Spectrum and was modeled using the GnSNMPDev or GnCiscoDev model type, the same device may be certified in the upgrade to use the Rtr_Cisco or SwCiscoIOS model type. The NewMM.pl script would upgrade the current model to the new model type.

We would recommend to have a recent online backup before running the NewMM.pl script and take another online backup after the NewMM.pl scripts have completed and the model types have been changed.
