Issue/Introduction

Introduction:

Upgrading WebLogic application server to 9.2.2 or 9.2.3 results in IDM not working.

Background:

None.

Environment:

Any Identity Manager version supporting this version of web logic.

Environment

Release: CAIDMB99000-12.6.8-Identity Manager-B to B
Component:

Resolution

You need to uninstall and reinstall IDM. However, after uninstalling the application you must delete the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CA . Deleting this key allows to correctly install and deploy IDM on WebLogic 9.2.2 or 9.2.3. There is something in this registry key that is looking for WebLogic 9.2.1, with which IDM was certified. Deleting this key allows the product to work with these other WebLogic versions as well.

IMPORTANT: This article contains information about modifying the registry.
Before you modify the registry, make sure to create back up of the registry and ensure that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem may occur.
For more information about how to back up, restore, and edit the registry, please review the relevant Microsoft Knowledge Base articles on support.microsoft.com.
