New users can be created and passwords for existing users can be changed using the Spectrum Control Panel by doing the following:

1. Log into the SpectroSERVER system as the user that owns the Spectrum installation

    a. On Windows, click on the Spectrum Control Panel icon
    b. On Linux, cd to the $SPECROOT/bin directory and execute "./SCP"

NOTE: On Linux, you will need to be running an x-windows application and set the DISPLAY on the Linux machine back to the client machine.

2. Select Control -> Users from the top level menu



3. To create a new user, click on the Create button and fill in the User Name, New Password and Confirm New Password fields and then click the OK button



4. To change the password for an existing user, select the user from the list and click on the Set Password button. Fill in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields and then click on the OK button.
