Issue/Introduction

SPECTRUM Network Configuration Manager (NCM) capture error "Can not create file"

Looking at the Events tab within the NCM, the associated event message will look like this:

Configuration Manager - Capture failed for host configuration file from device <device name> of type SwCat45xx on landscape<VNM name> initiated by user <user name>. Specific error: Unable to create file on the SpectroSERVER machine. Either the disk is full or permission denied.

Resolution

To resolve this, the SPECTRUM install user must have write access to the /tftp directory.  Once the SPECTRUM install user has write access to the /tftp directory, all users will be able to capture configurations.
