Correct modeling is crucial in fault isolation. This includes placing your VNM model in proper relation to the other models that represent your network.

User needs to connect the VNM model to the topology (e.g. through a switch model or a Fan_out model) so that Spectrum server knows where it sits in relation to the devices in alarm condition, then Spectrum will generate one alarm on one device as the root cause of the outage. It will suppress the alarm for rest to downstream devices.
