Issue/Introduction

Description:

Coupling facility (CF) failures require a TPX reconnect using REBUILD function.

Solution:

If the Coupling Facility (CF) feature is in use with Generic Resources and a CF failure occurs then managed rebuilds are required based upon what kind of CF failure is observed:

  • System managed rebuild is a "controlled" situation where a command is issued from the console to start the rebuild and then stop the rebuild.

  • User managed rebuild or Application managed rebuild (both names get used) deals with recovering from a CF structure disconnect.
