Description:
In this document is described what the amounts on the Software Status screen mean and when they are updated.
Solution:
The CA Mainframe Software Manager - MVS Software Status tab contains 2 sections that are affected by the Maintenance Novelty Interval
New Maintenance
This sections indicates how many HIPERs and maintenance items have been downloaded to the CA Mainframe Software Manager database - using the individual products 'Update Catalog Release' function- within the specified Maintenance Novelty Interval(1).
If no 'Update Catalog Release' was performed for any product, this value will not change within the specified 'Maintenance Novelty Interval'.
SMP/E Environments
This section indicates how many HIPERs and maintenance items are available for existing CSIs and could be installed.
(1) The Maintenance Novelty Interval is specified in the Settings Tab, User Settings, User Preferences. The Maintenance Novelty Interval specifies the number of days over which a downloaded maintenance package is regarded as old. For example, when packages become old, they are removed from the notices on the Software Status tab. Limits: 0 through 20.
