When does Restart (Encore) reuse, delete, or reallocate a GDG, or sequential data set?
Resolution
-RESTART (Encore) will delete a GDG when the data set was created by the step that abended. It will reuse a GDG data set when the data set was created in a prior step than the one abended.
-RESTART (Encore) will delete a sequential data set when the data set was created by the step that abended, and the prior step.
-RESTART (Encore) will reuse a sequential data set when the data set was created by a prior step than the one that abended.
