Description:
On a restart of a job, CA Workload Automation Restart Option EE will reuse a GDG file (or sequential file) and not redefine it like other files. Other times, you see that the product will reallocate the file. When does it reallocate and reuse the GDG file?
Solution:
CA Workload Automation Restart Option EE will delete a generation data set (GDG) when the data set was created by the step that abended. It will reuse a generation data set when the data set was created in a prior step than the one that abended.
CA Workload Automation Restart Option EE will delete a sequential data set when the data set was created by the step that abended. Also when the data set was created by a prior step than the one that abended with Usermod 76 being set.
CA Workload Automation Restart Option EE will reuse a sequential data set when the data set was created by a prior step than the one that abended with Usermod 76 not being set.
