Should I create a separate DASD subpool in VM:Director for our Linux virtual machines?
Yes, most sites will create one or more separate DASD subpools in VM:Director. Typically, DASD space used by the VM system and IBM program products, vendor program products and users, are separated into distinct DASD subpools. Additionally, you may want to create multiple Linux DASD subpools based upon application or by the owning department of those Linux servers. Segregating by Linux server owner is particularly useful for data centers that are service providers.
See VM:Secure's Administration Guide for more information on SUBPOOL and other DASD CONFIG file records.
