Issue/Introduction

This article explains how the UID (USER IDENTIFICATION) for an existing Ideal USER definition in PROD status can be modified.

Environment

Ideal

Cause

An Ideal USER definition in PROD status cannot be changed but should be deleted and recreated.

Resolution

  1. Delete the USER in Ideal and and all occurrences of any versions, including HIST. Run in Ideal DIS IND USER username to get the list of versions that exist for that particular USERID. Use MARK USER name PROD to HIST and then delete the HIST versions that exist.
  2. Once all versions are deleted, run CREATE USER name in a test version and code the new UID value for that USER in 'IDEAL user id' .
  3. Run MARK * TO PROD .
