Clarity: Cannot delete tasks from Template Process System Action.

Issue/Introduction

When you create a process step that uses the Copy Task WBS From Template System Action, you cannot delete tasks from the Template Task External ID field.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a project template with 5 tasks.
   
   
2. Create a Project Template process based on your template.
   
   
3. Create a step that uses the Copy Task WBS From Template System Action. Add all 5 of your tasks to the Template Task External ID.
   
   
4. Save your process.
   
   
5. Run an instance of your process.
   
   
6. Delete the process instance you created.
   
   
7. Put your process in the Draft or On Hold status.
   
   
8. Open your System action.
   
   
9. Attempt to remove some of your tasks from the Template Task External ID field by highlighting the task and clicking the trash can icon.

Expected Results: Task should be removed successfully.
Actual Results: Task is not removed.

 

Cause

This was analyzed by Engineering under CLRT-40749 / CLRT-52595

Resolution

After Engineering's careful review, it was decided not to make changes to the product area affected.

Resolution: Delete the step. Then recreate the step with the desired tasks included.
