The multi dimensional graph has two or more attributes to be displayed. Since the graph has more than two attributes, each attribute needs to be distinguished in different colors.

A bar graph is probably most common to display multi dimensional graph portlet. Fig.1 is an example of two dimensional graph portlet correctly displaying two attributes on top each other as one bar; the y-axis represent the sum of two attribute counts. And x-axis is a weekly based time line variation in this case. The legend shows colour correspondence to the attributes.

Problem symptom 1:

The attributes can be filtered to reduce the number of attribute to be displayed. Fig.2 is the filtered case and displayed only one attribute. With the attribute filtering, Fig.2 shows the colour mismatch problem.

The symptom is the bar colour changes in the x axis(the time line) though they are supposed to be the same attribute; therefore they should be the same colour. In the default, the red is chosen as the first colour and changes to blue, green and purple in this order as shown in Fig.2 The legend shows red as default, which is correct.

Problem symptom 2:

After having the symptom1, all attributes are reset to be displayed as Fig.3. It should look like Fig.1 But as shown in Fig.3, the colour mismatch occurs between the bars and the legend. Also the selected colours are not the default original ones as shown Fig.1.

The symptom is regarded as a defect and will be fixed in a future version. Currently no workaround is proposed for the issue; users may ignore displayed colour scheme if the attribute filter is used.
