Issue/Introduction

When you execute the PMO Accelerator 'Capacity vs Demand' Report By Resource or By Role, for MONTHLY periods, you see data in the report.

When you execute the report for WEEKLY periods the resources and portfolios are showing up but the data shows all zeros.

Environment

Release: All
Component: Clarity Reporting

Cause

The reason the report is showing all zeros is due to the Time Slicing Definitions used by this report.

The Capacity vs. Demand Report uses the following Time Slices:

Monthly:

  • MONTHLYRESOURCEACTCURVE
  • MONTHLYRESOURCEALLOCCURVE
  • MONTHLYRESOURCEAVAILCURVE

Weekly:

  • WEEKLYRESOURCEACTCURVE
  • WEEKLYRESOURCEAVAILCURVE
  • WEEKLYRESOURCEALLOCCURVE

This report uses the Datamart Calendar which uses a standard ISO week interval of Monday to Sunday. (Reference Datamart calendar table sets up weekly periods to start on Mondays)

Therefore, the Weekly Time Slices MUST have a start date for a MONDAY.

Resolution

  1. Reset the Time Slice Definition to start on a Monday (ensure the Start Date is set to cover the period you want to generate report data.)
  2. Execute the 'Time Slicing' job.
  3. Execute the 'Datamart Extraction' job.
  4. Generate the report again using the 'Weekly' option.

Additional Information

If Weekly Time Slice Definitions are not set up for starting on a Monday, other issues may manifest throughout the application. The Time Scaled Values grids also use the Datamart Calendar Table to display data and may cause data to display incorrectly if the configuration is not correct.
