How to configure SANM to send e-mail at alarm creation and then again if alarm still exists after 10 minutes

Environment

Release: Any
Component:

Resolution

1. Start at least two instances of AlarmNotifier. Run them so they use different .alarmrc files. Change the "APPLICATION" value in the individual .alarmrc files to a unique value as outlined in the SPECTRUM Alarm Notification Manager User Guide:

APPLICATION - Defines the application name that identifies this AlarmNotifier application. If you use multiple AlarmNotifier applications on your network, distinguish between applications by using unique application names such as AlarmNotifier1 or AlarmNotifier2. This allows you to use unique SANM alarm-notification policies with each application. If you use the n option when invoking AlarmNotifier, the APPLICATION parameter value is ignored. The default value is AlarmNotifier

2. Create a SANM Policy to send an e-mail notification for the filtered alarms when the alarm is first created. Associate this Policy to one of the AlarmNotifier Applications.

3. Create another SANM Policy with the same filters as the one created in step2 but set the Age to 10 minutes. Associate this Policy to the other AlarmNotifier Application.
