Chapter six of the installation guide for SymDump Batch and Optimizer/II 8.5 outline the language environment (LE) installation considerations. After the LE configuration for either product has been completed you execute the DEMO program shipped to verify the installation. When executing the DEMO program which produces an abend by design neither product captures the abend and LE generates a user U4039 abend.
After the LE configuration for either product has been completed and the DEMO program shipped to verify the installation is executed, a U4039 abend is generated (Below) and no dump is captured by SymDump Batch and Optimizer/II.

This is a known problem caused by LE option TERMTHDACT(UADUMP).
The SymDump Batch and Optimizer/II installation guide states that no dump will be captured if your LE configuration uses TERMTHDACT(UADUMP).
Note: The LE option TERMTHDACT(UADUMP) generates a U4039 abend when an unhandled condition occurs of severity 2 or greater.
SymDump Batch or Optimizer/II will not report on this abend.
As a test you may want to set TERMTHDACT(TRACE,,96).
