Issue/Introduction

Unable to start Spectrum AlarmNotifier, location service failed to connect with the following error:

Location service on <oneclickhostname> failed to connect: Not listening on port 0x50. Check that the server is started and ready.

Environment

Release: Any
Component: SPCAEM

Cause

The main cause of the error is that AlarmNotifier is trying to connect to location service on OneClick.

Resolution

In this scenario, the SpectroSERVER and OneClick are on two different servers.

To resolve the issue, make sure that the OneClick hostname and port are not entered under Spectrum Control panel -> Location server -> Client Applications.

These configurations are mainly used for the following purposes:

Hostname: Specifies the client application main location server hostname. It preserves landscape map integrity for different environments.

Port: Specifies the client application main location server port.
