Clarity: Does the Beacon service require root privileges?

Issue/Introduction

Description:

Question: Starting the beacon service in a Linux/Unix environment failed without having root as the niku user ID or the usage of sudo. How do I start the beacon?

Solution:

It is not desired to use root or sudo due to system security restrictions.

Make sure the Clarity application service uses a TCP port higher than 1024 and add the niku user ID as the root User in properties.xml or in NSA. Then deploy all services and start the beacon with the command "niku start beacon".
