Issue/Introduction

Description:

Unicode character set is not supported for dSeries (or CA Workload Automation) R11.1 and R11.1 SP1

Solution:

When setting up the database for dSeries/CA Workload Automation R11.1, make sure the character set is ASCII. The following are example of ASCII character set:
WE8MSWIN1252
US7ASCII
WE8ISO8859P1
----
Unicode character sets, e.g. AL32UTF8, are not supported. Run the following SQL queries to find out the character set of the database.
Oracle:
SELECT VALUE FROM nls_database_parameters WHERE PARAMETER='NLS_CHARACTERSET'

MS-SQL:
SELECT SERVERPROPERTY ('Collation')

DB2 (Run from the OS command line):
db2 get db cfg for <database_name>
