How do I increase the size of the Resolution field of a Knowledge document?

A message is issued when trying to enter more than a certain number of characters, such as 32,768 characters, in the Resolution field of a Knowledge document. The maximum allowable length of the Resolution field is a document setting that can be changed.


To increase the maximum allowable length of the Resolution field, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Administration tab

  2. Open the Knowledge tree

  3. Open the Documents tree

  4. Click on Document Settings

  5. Change the Resolution field to the required number of characters; up to the maximum permitted of 256,000

  6. Click on Save

  7. Restart service desk
