Issue/Introduction

When a TSS MODIFY STATUS command is issued, NEW_PASSWORD(xxx) is seen in the output. What does this indicate?

Resolution

NEW_PASSWORD(Active) will display when a security file has been copied using TSSXTEND with the NEWPWBLOK option set. NEWPWBLOCK in TSSXTEND adds mixed case password support to the security file.

NOTE: If the security file will be shared with a previous release of Top Secret, do not use the NEWPWBLOCK keyword until you verify that the previous release supports NEWPWBLOCK.
