Issue/Introduction

The SpectroSERVER database is terminating. Attempting to restore to legacy from the SCP immediately aborts. Attempting to restore to legacy from the command line immediately aborts. 

Environment

Cause

Corruption is the likely culprit.

Resolution

To resolve do the following:

  1. If the status of the SpectroSERVER is terminated, remove the .VNMDB.LOCK in the $SPECROOT/SS directory so the status of the SpectroSERVER goes to inactive.

  2. Remove all the db files in the $SPECROOT/SS directory - *.ix, *.db, log.*

  3. Attempt to restore to legacy again through the SCP or by running from the $SPECROOT/SS directory:
    /SS-Tools/ssdbload -il legacy.ssdb
