While bringing up ENF r12 with the Datacom database, the ENF task abends during startup when it attempts to communicate with the Datacom MUF. The following messages are generated:

  ENF:000:ADMUF01:DB00205E - MULTI-USER ERROR - 0044
  CAS9234E - DBMUFPR start failed, ended early or in error (CC=X'000004')
 *CAS9203E - CA-ENF Initialization error - terminating
  ENF ENF - ABEND=S000 U0203 REASON=00000028

In this example, the problem is a direct result of the DB00205E message. This is a Datacom error condition indicating a problem with the SVC. As described in technical document TEC445579, the 0044 is an indication that the SVC is not installed or not valid.

The following Datacom batch utility can be run to determine what SVCs are currently loaded. Use this utility to verify that the proper SVC number and release is loaded.

//STEPLIB DD DSN=yourHLQ.CUSLIB,       <- Your Datacom CUSLIB
//        DISP=SHR
// DD DSN=yourHLQ.CAAXLOAD <- Your Datacom load library
//        DISP=SHR
//SYSIN   DD  *

There is a section titled "User SVC Installation" in the CA Common Services for z/OS r12 Installation Guide that describes how to load the SVC using CAIRIM.
