Issue/Introduction

Description:

ITCM r12.5 uses the Content Import Client to download application and patch signatures from the content download server.

If there is a proxy server between the CIC and the content server the proxy server details and credentials need to be supplied in ITCM configuration Policy (see below)

<Please see attached file for image>

Figure 1

When the ITCM Engine runs the "Default Software Contents Download job it writes this proxy configuration to the file:

...\CA\SC\CIC\conf\config.xml

This in turn is used by the CIC to connect through the proxy to the CA Content Download Server.

CA has detected the following issue with this process in r12.5.

A proxy detail written to CIC\Conf\Config.xml by ITCM Engine (with the data from comstore) is being overwritten by CIC from the mdb table (ca_cic_manager). Since the ITCM Engine updates the config.xml alone and not the mdb, the data in the mdb is out-dated. When CIC starts it synchronizes the proxy details from mdb (Which is out-dated) and hence the CIC fails to work as it does not have the proxy information.

Solution:

CA has published a Hyper Solution for this with a patch which can be downloaded from support.ca.com.

The patch required is RO23500.
