Issue/Introduction

IP Address blank for Service Performance Manager (SPM) Test alarms processed by Spectrum AlarmNotifier

Cause

When SANM passed SPM Test Alarm to AlarmNotifier, the value of IP Address argument will be a null value because RTM_Test and RTM_TestHost models do not support the Network_Address attribute.

does not have Network Address attribute. In this case, when AlarmNotifier scripts had been modified to use /usr/sfw/bin/snmptrap utility to send traps, the SNMP trap may not be correctly sent out and Trap receiver will not process the SNMP trap. To avoid this problem we can pass RTM_Test or RTM_TestHost model's Test_Host_Address attribute value to AlarmNotifier to replace the IP Address value.

Environment

Release: Any
Component: SPCAPP

Resolution

Configure AlarmNotifier to pass the value of the RTM_Test Test_Host_Address attribute id 0x45600f1 and/or the RTM_TestHost  Test_Host_Address attribute 0x45600f0 to AlarmNotifier using either the EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ENVARS OR EXTRA_ATTRS_AS_ARGS parameters in the .alarmrc file for AlarmNotifier.

Then, modify the AlarmNotifier scripts to use these attributes as needed.
