BUSINESS OBJECTS REPORTS FAIL "Failed to open the connection. [Database vendor CODE:4060]"

Where ODBC, database and database logon id are not all 'niku', three Clarity reports fail, returning error 4060. One stock report and two PMO reports are affected.

The reports in question are:

Capacity vs Demand By Resource
Capacity vs Demand By Role
Project Transactions Inquiry


For each affected report do the following:

  1. Log into the BO Central Management Console.

  2. Select Objects.

  3. Select the report name.

  4. Click on the Process tab > then the Database tab.

  5. On the left under "Data Source(s)" highlight "niku".

  6. Once "niku" is highlighted, select the "Use custom database logon..." radio button.

  7. Complete the fields

    Server: database server
    Database: name of database
    User: database login name
    Password: database login password

  8. At the bottom of the page, select the "Use same database login as when..." radio button.

  9. Hit the Update button to save changes.
