Issue/Introduction
Activated the member in VTAM and then did a VTADD for the member. When I display a VT in TPXOPER, it has status NEVACT. How do I know whether the VT is really there for use?
Environment
Resolution
A status of NEVACT in the D VT display in TPXOPER merely indicates that the virtual terminal (VT) has yet to be selected since TPX has been up. It is NOT an indicator that the virtual terminal is unavailable.
NOTE:
Unless a COMMENT record is included in the VTADD, the virtual terminals will default to TYPE of GRP (GROUP).
You cannot delete VTs or change the TYPE of a VT once the VT is known to TPX.
