Issue/Introduction

Description:

Before I attempt my upgrade or install to a newer release, should I shutdown the UWCC services?

Solution:

The installer script should stop WCC and install. You can stop WCC manually if you choose. Be sure to keep EEM up and running though, through the install. The manual states:

================
Notes:
CA EEM should be running when you upgrade CA WCC so that registration can occur; otherwise, you will need to register CA WCC with CA EEM after you upgrade CA WCC. Before you begin the installation, stop performance-monitoring, antivirus, and antispyware software.
=================

Additionally CA recommends backing up your entire system prior to any upgrade attempts. The backup can server as a checkpoint which can be used to restore from incase any problems were to arise during or after the upgrade.
