Issue/Introduction

Description:

Clarity 12.0.6 / PMO 2.1
PMO Accelerator Portlet
Portlet Name : Staffing - 30 Day Outlook
Portlet Id : cop.staffing
Data Provider : Query > Staffing

Overview > PM Alerts tab > This portlet is not showing any data

Although the end-user has met all requirements to view data on this portlet, no data is appearing.

Requirements:
The end-user viewing this portlet must be the Manager of an active investment that is NOT a program or a template and the end-user must have the proper security access rights to view the investment. The investment must have Labor Resources assigned to Detail Tasks (not summary or milestone tasks) that do not have a 'Completed' status where the ETC assignment is currently greater than zero (0) and the task finish date is less than 30 days from the current date.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Install PMO Accelerator Add-In
  2. Create Project with Team Members assigned to Tasks (meeting requirements defined above)
  3. Overview > PM Alerts Tab > Staffing - 30 Day Outlook

Expected Result: To see data for Staffing - 30 Day Outlook
Actual Result: No data is returned in the portlet

Solution:

WORKAROUND:
Data Provider : Query > Staffing (ID: cop.qry.staffing or cop.staffing) (both queries include the same 'person_type' criteria in the WHERE clause) .... no data will appear due to the following condition in the WHERE clause

AND r.person_type = 0

This condition refers to the following:

Resource Object > Attribute ID = 'person_type'
Lookup = Resource Type (ID=SRM_RESOURCE_TYPE)
Data Type = Number

This attribute is shown on the Resource General Properties page in Admin Tool as 'Employment Type'

Stock Values for Lookup = Resource Type (ID=SRM_RESOURCE_TYPE) are:

300 = Employee
301 = Contractor

Clarity Administrator can add more values to this lookup and therefore other numeric values for the internal record id are valid. This attribute REQUIRES a value, therefore, it does not appear that 'person_type = 0' is a valid condition ; no results will ever be returned for this portlet.

As an immediate resolution to this issue, the Clarity administrator can make a new portlet.

  1. Copy the existing Query (cop.qry.staffing or cop.staffing) and remove the condition in the WHERE Clause " AND r.person_type = 0 ".
  2. Create a new portlet using your new query definition and you will see data returned if all other criteria are met for data to be displayed on this portlet.

STATUS/RESOLUTION:

This issue has been documented as PMO-619 and is assigned to development for review. If you are experiencing this problem and the workaround above does not significantly help, please contact CA Clarity Technical Support.
