Issue/Introduction

Description:

Is there a way to install the ITCM Agent on a cluster node without restarting the server?

Solution:

  1. Deploy the ITCM Agent using the real IP address/hostname of the cluster node. Do not use the virtual name.

  2. Once the Agent is successfully installed, add the 'system' variable CAI_MSQ_NOCLUSTER=Y on both cluster nodes.

  3. Restart the CAF and CAM service on the cluster node as below:

    • Open an command prompt and type
    • caf stop
    • caf kill all
    • cam stop
    • cam close
    • caf start

  4. Check the CAF/CAM communication to the cluster node and vice versa.

    • From the Domain Manager:

      Open command prompt and type

caf ping <real hostname of the cluster node>
caf ping <real IP address of the cluster node>
camping <real hostname of the cluster node>
camping <real IP address of the cluster node>

    • From the Cluster node

      Open command prompt and type

caf ping <real hostname of the Domain Manager>
caf ping <real IP address of the Domain Manager>
camping <real hostname of the Domain Manager>
camping <real IP address of the Domain Manager>

If there is no problem with communication, then the ITCM Agent should work fine and report in the DSM Explorer.
