AHD04760:Can't rename ddict.sch to ddict.sch.old at .\pdm_publish.pl line 503 after running pdm_publish

Issue/Introduction

When running pdm_publish, the error message:

AHD04760:Can't rename ddict.sch to ddict.sch.old at .\pdm_publish.pl line 503

is received and publishing of the schema changes fails.

Environment

All versions of Service Desk Manager

Cause

The error is generated when the user is not a local administrator, and does not have "Full Control" permissions on the "Service Desk\site" folder

Resolution

To ensure the user has the correct permissions, follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the "Service Desk\site" folder.
2. Select "Properties".
3. Click on the "Security" tab.
4. Click on "Users"
5. Click in the "Allow" checkbox next to the "Full Control" permission. See Figure 1.

You should now be able to run the pdm_publish command successfully.
