Issue/Introduction

Description:

Problem

  • tftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/#MPCPathBoot#\boothd. Permission denied (0x0212603c)

  • Could not load tftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/#MPCPathBoot#\boothd: Permission denied (0x0212603c)

Environment

  • PXE Target is HP DL580G7 Servers with QLogic / HP NC375i Quad Port Network Controller

Solution:

Resolution

  • None

Cause

QLogic / HP NC375i Quad Port Network Controller's ship with gPXE in the ROM instead of the standard PXE.

During the PXE boot phase the ITCM Bootserver provides the correct path to the bootfile but gPXE requests the incorrect path when it attempts to tftp the bootfile and the bootserver therefore responds with MAC XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XXIP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx FILE - not a valid path; access denied
